12BT, Bead 12, 12 Tehni

12 Biti, or 12 Tehni, is a two-player board game.

12 Biti (a traditional game) is a chess-like game for two players. Each player starts with 12 pawns. When moving a pawn (also called a bead, Tehni, or Guti), there are two possible actions. First, if all adjacent spaces around a pawn are empty, it can move to any empty space. Second, if a player can jump over an opponent's pawn, that opponent's piece is captured. The winner is the first player to capture all 12 of their opponent's pawns.

The game is similar to Draughts or Checkers, also known as Dame or Damas. An Arabic game called Quirkat, Al-qirq, or Alquerque (القرقات) is also similar to 12 Biti. Games like Alquerque, Quirkat, Halma, Chinese Checkers, and Konane share similarities. Alquerque's board and setup closely resemble the Bara Biti game. While the board setup for Draughts differs, anyone familiar with Draughts or Checkers can easily learn to play Quirkat, Alquerque, and this game.
