Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown

Love Sudoku? Battle of Sudoku lets you compete against other players or teams! The goal remains the classic Sudoku challenge: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Gameplay:

Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This determines the number of pre-filled digits. All players receive the identical puzzle.

Two game modes are available:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning points for the first player to correctly place it. Duplicate numbers are disallowed.
• Hidden Correct Numbers: Players can't see each other's correct numbers, allowing for simultaneous placement of the same numbers and earning points independently.

Time-Outs: Incorrect placements result in a time-out (configurable, default 30 seconds).

Scoring: Correct placements earn points based on difficulty; incorrect placements lose half that amount.

Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hidden Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, but this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win with fewer mistakes.

Team Play: Team mode allows two teams to compete. Players select their team (1 or 2) upon joining. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared within the team, facilitating collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to aid in solving:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Clicking a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
