Deft Machine

A dynamic platformer blended with a 2D physics-based machine simulator

You pilot a quirky off-road vehicle featuring a compact cabin. This machine includes a three-axle motor drive, a vertical spring mechanism, a small turbo jet engine, and a heavy rotating mace as its primary weapon. It also has a confined trunk with several slots for storing weapons and supplies.

Take control of the nimble machine to battle enemy creatures, smash objects, balance on moving platforms, and collect guns and items.

Key game features and mechanics:

✔ Game object interactions are deeply rooted in a 2D physics engine simulation.

✔ Nearly all dynamic objects are destructible (broken platforms respawn).

✔ Your vehicle's health decreases when hit, falling from high places, or being crushed by objects.

✔ Every control action aside from trunk use consumes a certain amount of fuel.

✔ Wheel motor torque, jump force, turbo thrust, and gunfire are time-dependent.

✔ Your machine can acquire temporary positive and negative abilities.

✔ Restore health, fuel, time, and switch weapons on the fly.

✔ Skill is required to properly operate the vehicle and stay balanced on moving platforms.

✔ Objects stuck in the wheels are a “controllable bug”—just use the mace.

Two game modes available:

1. CAMPAIGN

You are sent to a distant unnamed planet to test your vehicle’s durability and your driving skills. Break boxes, search for keys, collect them to unlock the exit door, then find and enter it to complete a level and unlock the next. Use your machine’s agility and your wits to succeed.

Recommended for experienced players.

Campaign features and mechanics:

✔ Heavily reliant on in-game gold transactions.

✔ Pay gold to enter a level and earn gold as a reward upon completion.

✔ Purchase weapons and supplies (health, fuel, time, boosts) from the store before a level begins.

✔ Sell excess guns and items from your trunk via the store.

✔ Earn gold in the “Catch Gold” mini-game.

✔ It’s possible to run out of gold with no way to earn more—in that case, start a NEW campaign.

✔ Some randomness is involved, so a bit of luck may be needed.

✔ Game progress saves automatically (no manual save/load).

(P.S. This campaign is designed as a challenge reminiscent of “old-school games.”)

2. SANDBOX

You can spawn available game objects from the factory (on-screen button) almost anywhere on the map. Build structures, add enemies, grab weapons, and start battles—experiment as you like!

Sandbox features and mechanics:

✔ Open the factory, select an object, then tap where you want to place it.

✔ Enable “OverSpawn” in Options to spawn objects even inside static terrain (may cause occasional non-physical behavior).

✔ Pick a color in the factory to assign a faction to enemies.

✔ Pan and zoom the camera in and out.

✔ Toggle the “F” button to enable/disable camera follow on your machine.

✔ Toggle the “P” button off to disable factory functions.

✔ Customize the factory window: move, resize, adjust opacity.
