Introducing Minnesota Whist, an engaging No Trump Partnership Whist game now available for your smartphone or tablet! Enjoy this free-to-play game and track your stats as you take on intelligent AI opponents. Minnesota Whist, a popular variant in Minnesota and South Dakota, offers a unique twist on traditional whist by eliminating trumps, making it an accessible yet strategic card game for players of all levels.
In Minnesota Whist, the objective shifts based on the type of bid. For a "high bid," your goal is to secure seven or more of the thirteen tricks. Conversely, a "low bid" challenges you to capture six or fewer tricks. This dynamic gameplay encourages strategic thinking and teamwork as you play alongside your AI partner to outsmart your opponents.
Whether you're honing your card skills or seeking a fun and fast-paced game to unwind, Minnesota Whist is perfect for you. As you progress, increase the difficulty to hard mode for a true challenge, and monitor your improvement with all-time and session stats.

Quickfire Rules:
After dealing the cards evenly among four players, each player bids either high (black card) or low (red card). Bids are revealed starting left of the dealer. The first black card turned over signifies a 'high' round, led by the player to the right of the bidder, where teams aim to win as many tricks as possible. If all bids are red, it's a 'low' round, led by the player to the left of the dealer, where teams try to win as few tricks as possible.
In each trick, players must follow suit if possible; otherwise, they can play any card. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick, and the winner leads the next trick. At the end of the round, points are scored based on tricks won. In a high bid round, the granding team scores a point for every trick over six, while failure to reach seven tricks results in the opposing team scoring points. In a low bid round, teams score points for each trick under seven.
