The quirky creature-collecting RPG, The New Denpa Men, is making a comeback to mobile devices! Initially a 3DS favorite, then ported to the Nintendo Switch, this title is now set for an iOS and Android release on March 10th. This news follows Nintendo's recent aggressive expansion into the mobile gaming market.

Gematsu reports that the mobile version will incorporate AR functionality, similar to the original 3DS release, utilizing the device's camera. For those unfamiliar, The New Denpa Men is an AR-based RPG where players collect "Denpa Men"—creatures inhabiting radio waves—from the real world and battle them in dungeons.

The Denpa Men franchise, while not a household name like Mario or Zelda, boasts a history on Nintendo platforms. Developer Genius Sonority previously released a mobile version of The New Denpa Men before its Switch remaster. This upcoming release marks a rerelease of a mobile game that was itself a Switch port—a somewhat convoluted history!

Interestingly, the original New Denpa Men was Japan-only. However, the Switch version enjoyed a global launch, suggesting a potential worldwide release for this new mobile iteration.
