Discover GAMM: Italy

Rome boasts Italy's largest video game museum, GAMM (Game Museum), now open to the public in Piazza della Repubblica. The brainchild of Marco Accordi Rickards – writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus – GAMM is a testament to Rickards' passion for preserving and celebrating video game history. He describes the museum as a journey blending historical context, technological innovation, and interactive gameplay exploration. GAMM builds upon the legacy of Vigamus, a previous Roman gaming museum that attracted over two million visitors since its 2012 opening.

Occupying 700 square meters across two floors, GAMM is organized into three captivating thematic zones. A sneak peek awaits!

Exploring GAMM's Interactive Exhibits:

  • GAMMDOME: This digital playground features interactive stations alongside authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. The experience adheres to a 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • Path of Arcadia (PARC): Journey back to the golden age of arcade games, revisiting classics from the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

  • Historical Playground (HIP): Delve into the mechanics of game design, exploring game structures, interaction principles, and design rules. Consider it a behind-the-scenes look at gaming history.

GAMM is open Monday to Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. For further information, visit the official GAMM website. Stay tuned for our upcoming article on Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp's seven-year journey on Android.
