Hades 2 Unveils Captivating Characters, Weapons and Mount Update

Hades 2's "Olympic Update" Ascends with New Content!

Supergiant Games has unleashed the first major update for Hades 2, titled "The Olympic Update," introducing a wealth of new features to enhance the already acclaimed roguelike. This significant update brings players to the majestic Mount Olympus, adding a new region ripe for exploration and conquest.

Key highlights of this expansive update include:

  • New Region: Mount Olympus: Conquer the home of the gods and uncover the secrets it holds.
  • New Weapon: Xinth, the Black Coat: Master this powerful Nocturnal Arms weapon.
  • New Characters & Familiars: Forge alliances with two new allies and bond with two new animal companions.
  • Crossroads Revamp: Customize your Crossroads with dozens of new cosmetic items.
  • Expanded Narrative: Dive deeper into the story with hours of fresh dialogue and plot developments.
  • Enhanced World Map: Experience a streamlined presentation when traveling between regions.
  • Mac Support (Native): Hades 2 now runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1 and later).

Melinoe and Enemies Enhanced:

The update doesn't just add content; it refines the existing experience. Melinoe, the protagonist, receives enhancements to her Dash ability, making it faster and more responsive. Her weapon specials (Witch's Staff, Sister Blades, Umbral Flames, and Moonstone Axe) have also been reworked for improved player agency. However, be warned! Enemies have also received significant upgrades and adjustments to challenge even the most seasoned players. These changes include adjustments to Chronos, Eris, Infernal Beast, Polyphemus, Charybdis, and Headmistress Hecate, along with a general reduction in simultaneous ranged attacks from multiple enemies.

The Olympic Update marks a substantial step forward for Hades 2, adding significant replayability and expanding upon the already impressive foundation laid in the early access release. With the addition of Olympus and its challenges, the journey to save the Underworld is about to get even more epic. The full game, including console releases, is anticipated sometime next year.
