The original Splitgate, known for its unique blend of Halo-style combat and Portal's spatial manipulation, achieved remarkable success after its 2019 release. Its popularity led to significant server upgrades to handle the massive player base. Following its official launch in September 2022, 1047 Games shifted focus to this sequel, promising "revolutionary" changes.

New Factions, Maps, and More

Splitgate 2 will introduce three distinct factions – Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask – each offering unique gameplay styles. The trailer highlighted these factions and showcased new maps and weapons. While details remain scarce, the developers emphasized that Splitgate 2 will not be a hero shooter.
