HandyGames Opens Way of the Hunter Mobile CBT

Wild America: Way of the Hunter brings its expansive open-world hunting experience to mobile devices. If you've played the PC version, you’re already familiar with its signature gameplay. Developed by Nine Rocks Games, the title originally released in August 2022 for PC and consoles.

What Features Are Included in the Mobile Version of Way of the Hunter?

Although mobile devices can't match high-end PC graphics, the core experience—along with planned DLC—will be available post-launch. The mobile port is currently in beta, with THQ Nordic and HandyGames targeting an official release soon.

HandyGames has announced a closed beta test via social media, inviting interested players to sign up through an online form. To join the beta, visit their official X account.

Does It Deliver a Realistic Hunting Experience?

Way of the Hunter challenges your patience and strategic planning as you track animals that behave like their real-world counterparts. Set in sprawling environments inspired by American and European landscapes, the game offers over 55 square miles to explore.

You can choose from an array of authentic hunting weapons including rifles and bows, and analyze blood trails and animal signs to secure your prize. Check out the gameplay below.

The game's ecosystem responds to your actions—overhunting or scaring wildlife in one area can cause animals to relocate.

An in-game economy lets you sell meat to purchase better equipment, hunting passes, and taxidermy trophies for your lodge. Alongside campaign and co-op modes, the mobile version will offer full controller support.
