Hearthstone Reveals StarCraft Mini-Set Details and Release Date

Hearthstone's upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st, boasts a record-breaking 49 new cards. This expansion, a crossover with Blizzard's StarCraft universe, introduces class and multi-class cards themed around the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran factions.

The Mini-Set's card distribution includes three cards per Hearthstone class. Zerg cards, playable by Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, emphasize summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage. Protoss cards, for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, focus on manipulating mana to deploy powerful units like the Carrier. Terran cards, accessible to Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior, utilize the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond expansion, introducing new Starship Pieces and strategies. A single neutral Legendary card, Grunty, completes the set.

Acquiring the complete Mini-Set costs $20 (or 2500 gold), a slight increase from previous Mini-Sets. A golden version is available for $80 (or 12,000 gold). Alternatively, players can purchase individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 (or 1200 gold) each.

To celebrate the release, Hearthstone will host two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring StarCraft pros TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing Hearthstone community creators. Viewers can earn four packs (two standard, two Golden Great Dark Beyond packs) by watching these Twitch streams.
