Marvel Rivals May Be Headed to Nintendo Switch 2

by Owen Mar 01,2025

The possibility of Marvel Rivals arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2, once considered impossible, is now looking increasingly likely. While NetEase previously rejected a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, the upcoming console could alter the situation significantly.

At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu disclosed ongoing discussions with Nintendo. The primary challenge remains ensuring consistent, high-quality performance on the new hardware:

"The first-generation Switch lacked the processing power for the gameplay experience we envisioned. However, if the Switch 2 proves capable, we're prepared to bring the game to the platform."

Following the official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, major industry players are expressing strong support for the platform. Phil Spencer indicated Xbox's intention to bring its game library to the system, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also shown its enthusiasm.

Further expansion of Marvel Rivals is anticipated, with the addition of two Fantastic Four members slated for upcoming updates, promising to enhance the game's roster and gameplay.
