Metal Gear Solid Delta Reveals Snake Eater Opening

by Lucas Oct 06,2025

As we edge closer to the August launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has unveiled the stealth title's cinematic opening sequence.

While featuring subtle variations, the intro remains instantly recognizable to veteran fans - from the newspaper visuals to the James Bond-style theme song, once again performed by original vocalist Cynthia Harrell.

The trailer offers glimpses of key moments from the game (presented without context, naturally), including Snake's dramatic backwards plunge from a waterfall and the protagonist consuming his reptilian namesake. Delightful imagery indeed.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater revitalizes Konami's acclaimed 2004 espionage adventure (minus the "Delta" distinction in the original title). The publisher recently confirmed the game's August 28 release date and announced the return of the fan-favorite Snake vs. Monkey bonus mode. The remake will retain the mature content from Metal Gear Solid 3, including the controversial Peep Demo Theatre, as indicated by age ratings.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta leans more toward an enhanced HD remaster than the comprehensive reimagining it might have been," noted IGN's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, which examines Snake's introduced first-person viewpoint. "While visually stunning, it stays perhaps too faithfully close to its origins." The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned a stellar 9.6 rating from our review.
