Netflix will soon offer interactive party games you and your friends can play via mobile

Netflix is launching a new lineup of party games
Pictionary, Boggle, and other popular titles are joining the collection
These games will roll out gradually over the coming months

Netflix’s push into gaming has seen mixed results over the years. While its ambitions to build a full AAA studio have stalled, its mobile game library remains strong. Now, loyal Netflix subscribers can look forward to fresh party experiences designed for TV and mobile.

If you’ve ever enjoyed Jackbox on your TV, this will feel instantly familiar—in a good way. These new party games let you play on your television while other players join in using their phones, with no extra hardware required.

Though it may not replicate the instant spontaneity of Jackbox, this lineup features well-known brands. Pictionary: Game Night, Boggle Party, and an original social deduction game called Party Crashers: Fool your Friends.

It’s almost surprising that Netflix didn’t introduce multiplayer-focused games like this sooner. But it’s a welcome addition. One thing you can say about the Jackbox series is that it’s not inexpensive—even on mobile. So a more accessible alternative is a welcome change.

The rollout of Netflix’s party games will be phased, so check your platform to see if they’re available. For everyone else, it’s just a matter of waiting until you can gather friends for a night of Pictionary on the big screen.

If you prefer playing alone, you’ll be pleased to know mobile already offers plenty. But if you’re searching for something new, consider our review of Set a Watch to explore what this solo board game has to offer.
