Originally released in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, Pokémon Gold and Silver captivated players worldwide with their innovative features. These groundbreaking titles introduced a real-time clock system influencing Pokémon appearances and events, and expanded the Pokémon universe with 100 new species (Gen 2), including fan favorites like Pichu, Cleffa, Hoothoot, Chikorita, Umbreon, Ho-Oh, and Lugia. The games' enduring popularity led to a 10th-anniversary remake, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, for the Nintendo DS in 2009.
