Razer Laptops Hit by Trump Tariffs, Sales Halted

U.S. gamers are facing another round of price hikes as President Trump's import tariffs take effect - this time hitting Razer's Blade 16 gaming laptops.

These tariffs essentially act as taxes on imported goods. While manufacturers could theoretically absorb these extra costs, most simply pass them along to consumers. Tech enthusiasts and gamers often find themselves directly impacted by these pricing changes.

Some retailers are going a step further than price adjustments - they're temporarily pulling products from shelves entirely. As reported by The Verge, the Blade 16 was available for U.S. orders as recently as April 1st before mysteriously disappearing from the company's website.

While European gamers can currently purchase the new laptop (assuming limited stock availability - currently unavailable in the UK), the U.S. store only offers a "Notify Me" option without any pricing information. Attempting to access the purchase page redirects users to a 404 error.

The issue extends beyond Razer. Companies manufacturing components in tariff-affected regions like China and Taiwan are warning of price increases. Memory producer Micron has cautioned about additional charges, while computer maker Framework has completely halted some U.S. sales temporarily.

Last week's market turbulence caused by the tariff announcement led to Nintendo removing the originally scheduled April 9th pre-order date for the Switch 2 in the U.S. The situation quickly spread, with Nintendo Canada subsequently confirming delays to their pre-order timeline as well.

Concerns are mounting within the gaming community that Nintendo may respond to these economic pressures by further raising both the console's price point and game pricing, especially following recent backlash about the initially announced cost structure.
