Star Wars Outlaws Launch Date Confirmed for Switch 2

Ubisoft had previously announced Star Wars: Outlaws as a future Nintendo Switch 2 title, but has now confirmed the space adventure won't be a launch game when the new console releases on June 5. Instead, it will arrive a few months later on September 4.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Star Wars Outlaws takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, following Kay Vess, a petty criminal who earns a cartel death mark. Our review scored it 7/10, calling it "an entertaining intergalactic heist adventure with solid exploration, though hampered by simplistic stealth mechanics, repetitive combat, and some launch bugs."

Beyond reaffirming the Switch 2 release and confirming the September date, Ubisoft shared few additional details - though we can now update the Switch 2 Games List. As North American gamers wait in pre-order uncertainty amid Nintendo's tariff evaluations, any updates about upcoming Switch 2 games provide welcome news.

The announcement came during a Star Wars Celebration panel in Japan, where Ubisoft also previewed the second story expansion, A Pirate's Fortune. This DLC will feature Kay teaming up with fan-favorite character Hondo Ohnaka against Stinger Tash of the Rokana Raiders. A Pirate's Fortune launches May 15.
