Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of Helldivers 2 (released a year ago), is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to solicit fan input on the new project.

Community suggestions ranged from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and also mentioned exploring a Star Fox-esque concept within the "rail game" genre.

While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.

A recent Helldivers 2 update, including the "Omens of Tyranny" expansion (shadow-dropped at the 2024 Game Awards), has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. This update introduced the much-anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, delighting players. With a rumored Killzone crossover also in the pipeline, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
