Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) continues to defy expectations, selling an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, a testament to its enduring popularity over a decade after its September 2013 launch. It remains one of the best-selling video games ever.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in October 2018, also saw a sales surge, adding 3 million copies to its already substantial 70 million total in the recent quarter.

The ongoing success of GTA Online, GTA V's multiplayer component, is a key factor. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to regular updates, such as the December 2024 Agents of Sabotage, keeps players engaged and returning.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Other upcoming titles include Mafia: The Old Country (summer 2025) and Borderlands 4 (later in 2025).

While concerns about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two's recent financial report reaffirmed its fall 2025 release window. Similarly, Borderlands 4 is confirmed for release this year, although specific dates remain unannounced.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar Games' meticulous development process, suggesting that additional time may be needed, mirroring the development cycles of previous titles like GTA V and RDR2. Despite this, the fall 2025 release for GTA VI remains the target.
