Following modern anime trends, The Eminence in Shadow follows Japanese student Minoru Kageno's rebirth as Cid in a fantasy realm. Aspiring to become a master schemer, he fabricates stories about being Shadow - a shadowy warrior fighting the sinister Diablos Cult.
