How to Watch The Monkey - Showtimes and Streaming Release Date

by Isabella Mar 04,2025

Oz Perkins's latest horror-comedy, The Monkey, a Stephen King adaptation, is now playing in theaters. The film, starring Theo James as a pair of twins tormented by a killer monkey toy, has received rave reviews, with IGN calling it "one of the best horror-comedies in recent memory." The supporting cast includes Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, and Adam Scott.

Where to Watch The Monkey

The Monkey premiered in theaters on February 21st. Check local listings at Fandango, AMC Theaters, Cinemark Theaters, and Regal Theaters.

The Monkey will eventually stream on Hulu. Neon, the film's distributor, has a distribution agreement with Hulu. Given Neon's release pattern (Oz Perkins's Longlegs had a seven-month theatrical-to-streaming gap), expect a similar delay for The Monkey. Digital rentals and purchases may be available via Prime Video by early May.

About The Monkey

Based on Stephen King's short story, the film follows twin brothers who encounter a cursed wind-up monkey, leading to a series of gruesome deaths and a decades-later resurgence of the cursed toy's murderous spree.

Post-Credits Scene?

While there isn't a traditional post-credits scene, a surprise awaits those who stay until the very end. For details (spoiler alert!), consult IGN's guide to the film's ending.
