Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Lineup: New Games and Departures

Microsoft has unveiled its first Xbox Game Pass lineup for 2025, confirming several anticipated titles and revealing which games will be leaving the service. January 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting month for subscribers.

The announcement, made via the official Xbox blog on January 7th, includes seven new additions. Road 96, a choice-driven adventure game, is already available across all Game Pass tiers (including PC). This marks its return to the service after a previous stint. Six more games join the lineup later in the month: Lightyear Frontier (Preview), My Time at Sandrock, Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders, Rolling Hills, UFC 5 (Game Pass Ultimate only), and Diablo (Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only). Most of these new titles arrive on January 8th, with UFC 5 and Diablo launching on January 14th.

This confirms earlier leaks regarding Diablo and UFC 5's inclusion, although access is limited to Ultimate and/or PC Game Pass subscribers for these titles. The remaining games are accessible with a standard subscription. Lightyear Frontier, a sci-fi title, remains in early access.

Alongside the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks launched on January 7th, including a weapon charm for Apex Legends and DLC for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.

However, new arrivals mean departures. Six games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15th: Common'hood, Escape Academy, Exoprimal, Figment, Insurgency Sandstorm, and Those Who Remain. This was previously hinted at through Xbox app updates.

This announcement covers only the first half of January. Microsoft will undoubtedly reveal the second half of the month's lineup shortly.
