How to Play Okey Game

Okey is traditionally played with 4 players. The game uses a cue stick to help players sort their tiles, which come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13. There are also two fake Okey tiles in the mix, making a total of 106 tiles.

At the start of the game, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed to the players. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then organize their tiles into pairs or groups based on their cues.

The tiles not distributed are placed in the middle of the table, with one open numbered tile acting as the indicator stone. The tile matching the color and number of the indicator stone becomes the Okey Stone, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Finishing with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.

Normal Tile Arrangement in Okey Game:

Players aim to arrange their tiles into at least three pairs. These can be formed either by arranging tiles of the same color in sequential order or by grouping tiles of the same number across different colors.

Pair Formation in Okey Game:

To end the game, a player must arrange all their tiles into pairs, culminating in seven pairs, and then drag the last tile to the center of the table.

Indicator Rule in Okey Game:

At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey-colored tile, points are deducted from other players; otherwise, 2 points are deducted.

End of Okey Game:

The game concludes based on the final tile played. If it's not an Okey, it's a normal finish, with 4 points deducted if it's Okey-colored, or 2 points otherwise. Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from other players. Completing a color sequence from 1 to 13 results in other players' points dropping to zero, ending the game. If all tiles are the same color but not in order, 8 points are deducted from other players.
