Rummy 500, also referred to as Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, 500 Rum, or 500 Rummy, is a well-known variation of the classic Rummy game. While it shares similarities with straight Rummy, it sets itself apart by allowing players to pick up multiple cards from the discard pile, not just the top card.

Following the standard Rummy 500 rules, players earn points for forming melds and lose points for any unmatched cards (deadwood) left in their hand when another player goes out.

Game Rules:

• The game typically accommodates 2 to 4 players

• A single deck including jokers is used

• Each player is dealt 7 cards

• The goal is to be the first player to accumulate 500 points

• If multiple players reach the target score in the same round, only the one with the highest total points wins

• Form sets and sequences to score points. A set consists of 3 or 4 cards of the same rank, while a sequence is 3 or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Your score in Rummy 500 is determined by the total value of the cards used in your valid sets and sequences

• Each turn involves drawing a card at the start and discarding a card at the end

• You also have the option to lay down a new meld or add cards to an existing meld on the table. This latter action is called building

• Jokers act as wild cards and can represent any card in a set or sequence

• You may pick up one or more cards from the discard pile, but you must immediately use the most recently discarded card

• When taking cards from the discard pile, you must use the bottom card to form a valid meld immediately, or the move is not allowed

• All face cards are worth 10 points. An Ace can be worth 11 points when used in a meld, but carries a 15-point penalty if held unmelded. A Joker assumes the point value of the card it represents and also adds a 15-point penalty if caught in your hand

• The game consists of multiple rounds

• Points from each round accumulate. The first player whose total score meets or exceeds the target wins the game

• The game concludes when the target score is reached. If players tie, a playoff round determines the final winner
