Game Introduction

Tichu is a dynamic multi-genre card game blending elements from Bridge, Daihinmin, and Poker. Played in teams of two, partners sit opposite each other, collaborating to score points and gain the lead. The game unfolds over multiple hands until one team reaches a predetermined target score.

This strategic game uses a 56-card deck with four suits: Jade, Swords, Pagodas, and Stars. Each suit contains 13 cards ranked from 2 to Ace, plus four special cards: the Dragon, Phoenix, Hound, and Mah Jong. Players begin with eight cards, with the option to declare a high-stakes "Grand Tichu" (200 points) before receiving six additional cards, or a "Tichu" (100 points) before playing their first card.

After dealing all 56 cards (14 per player), the card exchange phase begins where each player strategically passes one card to every other player. The player holding the Mah Jong card starts the first trick, playing any valid combination that subsequent players must either pass or beat. Special "Bomb" combinations can disrupt normal play dynamics.

Play continues until two teammates empty their hands, with remaining cards counting against that team's score. The game concludes when a team reaches the target score established at the beginning.
