VNeID: Your Electronic Identification and Authentication Solution

The VNeID application, developed by the National Population Data Center under Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security, harnesses the power of population data, identification, and electronic authentication to enhance digital services for residents and travelers in Vietnam.

Key Features and Benefits:

VNeID serves as a digital substitute for traditional documents, enabling citizen identification within digital environments. It fosters the growth of digital citizenship, digital government, and digital society. The application streamlines processes such as medical reporting and domestic travel declarations, making them more efficient. Additionally, it assists authorities in tracing secondary COVID-19 infections and provides timely notifications to the public.

Access and Permissions:

By using VNeID, you consent to the following access permissions:

1. Internet Access: Allows the application to connect to the internet from your device.
2. Camera Access: Enables QR code scanning on Citizen ID cards for faster entry of basic citizen information and quick scanning at checkpoints for travel and medical declarations.
3. Media Access: Grants access to photos, videos, audios, and files on your device to store QR code images for verification at checkpoints.
4. Notification Permissions: Permits the application to send notifications to your device.

Personal Information Collection:

When using VNeID, you may enter data to report medical information, track domestic movements, or submit information on behalf of others with their explicit consent. The personal information collected includes your full name, phone number, citizen identification, gender, year of birth, permanent address, nationality, health status, departure and destination locations, vehicle number plate, and exposure to individuals with COVID-19. This information is collected only with your permission through form submissions.

User Responsibility:

Users are fully responsible for their actions and the accuracy of the information they input into the system.

Privacy and Copyright Protection:

Your data is securely stored by the National Population Data Center, Ministry of Public Security, and is used exclusively for COVID-19 prevention and control efforts. It is never used for commercial purposes or to invade your privacy. Data may be shared with health authorities and other relevant agencies to enhance disease prevention efforts.

The application's developers do not collect or use your information for any purposes other than those stated above. They will not disclose any information that could harm your privacy or engage in any illegal activities as per Vietnamese law or the application's policy.

Additional Information:

• Location Data: VNeID does not collect any location data from users.
• Anonymity: Users interact anonymously within the community. Only authorized agencies have access to information about those infected or suspected of being infected due to close contact with COVID-19 cases for tracing purposes.
