Russian Checkers (8x8)

Movement and Capture Rules:

• White moves first.
• Checkers move diagonally on dark squares only.
• Mandatory capture: If a capture is possible, it must be made.
• Checkers can capture forward or backward.
• Kings move and capture along any diagonal.
• Turkish strike rule: An opponent's checker can be captured only once per move.
• Multiple capture options: Choose any capture sequence, regardless of length.
• King promotion: When a checker reaches the opponent's back row, it becomes a king and can move and capture immediately.

Draw Conditions:

• A player with checkers and three or more kings against a single opponent's king cannot capture the opponent's king within 15 moves.

• A player with three checkers (kings or otherwise) against a single opponent's king on the "high road" cannot capture the opponent's king within 5 moves.

• A simple checker that reaches the opponent's back row by a non-capture move becomes a king and stops. It can move as a king on the next turn.
