Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, a mobile RPG from Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games, is shutting down its global servers. This news comes just over a year after the game's January 2024 global launch, a surprisingly short lifespan. The Japanese version, however, launched in September 2023 and remains operational, even gearing up for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.

Atelier Resleriana Global End of Service (EOS) Date

The global version's end is scheduled for March 28th, 2025—ironically, the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players will be progressing through Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary was celebrated just on January 25th, making this a bittersweet end.

Reasons for the Global Shutdown

Developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system almost immediately after launch. While the main characters were well-received, issues with gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep ultimately contributed to the game's underperformance and the decision to end service.
