Blizzard Unveils Dates for Six Upcoming Warcraft Conventions

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers.

Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 in favor of alternative events like Gamescom and the inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour serves as a significant 2025 initiative. This tour celebrates various Warcraft franchise milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first.

The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and continues to Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, and finally Boston (coinciding with PAX East) on May 10th.

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

While details are scarce, the conventions are expected to prioritize fan engagement and immersive experiences rather than major announcements. Think memorable moments and developer interactions, not large-scale reveals.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for these "intimate gatherings" will be free but extremely limited. Blizzard suggests checking regional Warcraft channels for information on how to secure tickets. The distribution method remains undisclosed.

BlizzCon's Future:

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. A potential late summer/early autumn BlizzCon could serve as a platform to showcase the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion's content, including the anticipated player housing feature. However, Blizzard's silence regarding future BlizzCons leaves open the possibility of a biennial schedule, similar to Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour offers a unique opportunity for fans to celebrate the franchise's legacy.
