Disney Pulls 14 Classic Games From PC Storefronts With No Explanation

by Henry May 06,2026

Disney has quietly removed 14 of its licensed games from Steam without explanation, making titles like Disney's Hercules Action Game and Finding Nemo unavailable for purchase.

This was first noticed by HappyCatEW on Steamgifts and Wario64 on Twitter/X, and reported by Polygon. The games are mostly older releases from the 90s and 2000s; while existing owners can still play them, new purchases are no longer possible. The most recent title on the list is Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell's Adventure (2014), while the oldest, Stunt Island, dates back to 1992.

Most of these games received mediocre reviews, but their quality isn’t the main issue—many were only available on Steam for modern platforms. Some, such as Afterlife and Stunt Island, were also sold on GOG and appear to have been removed at the same time, meaning they’re now completely inaccessible on PC unless you already owned them. Without physical copies from older consoles, these titles are effectively lost to new players.

The removed games include:

Why Disney made this move is unclear. We’ve reached out for comment and will update if we receive a response.

Disney’s involvement in gaming has been inconsistent over the years. Following a surge of licensed titles in the 90s and 00s—including many of the games listed above—it drastically reduced output in the 2010s and largely disappeared from the industry for several years. More recently, it returned with titles like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Disney Illusion Island, featuring its classic characters. But it now appears to be pulling back again, at least for properties outside Marvel and Star Wars—whose gaming histories are more complex and sustained. Its latest non-Marvel/Star Wars games arrived in 2023 (Tron: Identity, Gargoyles Remastered, Disney Speedstorm), and there’s no indication of new releases on the horizon.
