Unlocking the Best Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Packs: A Strategic Guide
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers three booster packs from the Genetic Apex set: Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu. This guide prioritizes which packs to open first to maximize your card collection and deck-building potential.
Which Booster Packs Should You Open First?
Undeniably, the Charizard pack takes priority. It offers a powerful foundation for building a high-damage Fire-type deck centered around Charizard Ex. More importantly, it includes Sabrina, a top-tier Supporter card invaluable across various deck strategies. The pack also contains strong cards like Starmie Ex, Kangaskhan, and Greninja, along with Erika and Blaine, essential for Fire and Grass decks respectively.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Pack Priority List:
Here's the recommended order for opening your booster packs:
Charizard: This pack provides the most versatile and crucial cards, forming the backbone of several powerful decks.
Mewtwo: A solid choice for building a Psychic-type deck focused on Mewtwo Ex and the Gardevoir line.
Pikachu: While the Pikachu Ex deck is currently meta, its cards are less versatile and its dominance may be short-lived, especially with the introduction of Promo Mankey.
While you'll eventually need to open all three packs to complete secret missions, focusing on the Charizard pack first allows you to acquire key cards applicable to multiple decks. Use your Pack Points strategically to acquire any missing cards after building a strong initial deck.
