Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they're developing this functionality, absent from the game's launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date isn't set, the addition is expected soon, possibly coinciding with the Season 2 update later this month. This news follows a recent update (January 9th) addressing various bug fixes in Multiplayer and Zombies modes. A significant Zombies change – reversing a controversial round timer alteration – was also implemented after player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response to fan requests confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." The absence of this feature in Black Ops 6, despite its presence in the similarly-structured Modern Warfare 3, caused significant disappointment among players. Its return will greatly benefit players striving for Mastery camos. The in-game tracker will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3's functionality, providing real-time progress updates on selected challenges within the UI.
More Improvements Incoming
Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed they're developing separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This highly requested feature will eliminate the need for constant HUD adjustments when switching between game modes. Both features are currently under development, with more details expected soon.
