Discover the latest updates for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as the game's first patch notes have been released, featuring essential bug fixes and localization enhancements. Dive deeper to uncover what fans can anticipate from this update, along with a recommendation from the game's creative director for another RPG.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has just released its inaugural update since launch. Sandfall Interactive shared on their Steam blog on April 30 that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now available, concentrating on multiple bug fixes and localization enhancements.
This update addresses several in-game issues, notably the soft-lock that could occur when stunning the Grown Bourgeon, and other soft-lock problems on the world map. Additionally, the update includes refinements to the French, German, and Chinese language options within the game.

The developers are committed to ongoing improvements and have promised to release more information soon. While these patches are crucial for enhancing gameplay, the community is eagerly awaiting more substantial updates, such as potential DLCs.
This week, Expedition 33's lead writer took to Instagram to address fan inquiries about the possibility of DLC. Although no official confirmation was given, the response was optimistic, hinting that due to the game's success, a DLC could be on the horizon.
In related news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche has recommended another RPG that launched on the same day as Expedition 33. In a tweet on April 30, Broche encouraged fans to explore The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, describing it as "another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation came in response to a shout-out from The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who on April 28 praised Expedition 33 on Twitter, saying, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" Kodaka continued to laud Expedition 33 in subsequent tweets, urging fans to experience both RPGs.

Despite the competitive release week that included other RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line has garnered a "Very Positive" reception on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 stands out as the top-rated game of 2025, having sold over 1 million copies in just three days.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest news on the game by clicking on our article below!
