Sony and Kojima Productions have confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will feature asynchronous multiplayer, continuing the unique "social strand system" from the original. Crucially, these online elements won't require a PlayStation Plus subscription.

The PlayStation Store description reveals players will encounter roads, bridges, and other structures built by other gamers, enhancing exploration and collaboration. These interactive elements unlock as you connect different regions in the game world.
