Deltarune's Exclusive Switch 2 Feature Revealed in Secret "SPECIAL ROOM"

During the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, it was announced that Deltarune will grace the next-gen console with a version that includes chapters 3 and 4, along with exclusive features designed to utilize the advanced capabilities of the Switch 2.

In a Fangamer newsletter, Deltarune's creator, Toby Fox, shared exciting details about a unique "SPECIAL ROOM" that will harness the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox explained, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!" This innovative feature will allow for a novel gameplay experience exclusive to Switch 2 users.

For those playing on older devices, the special room will still be accessible but with an alternative control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to this new version, ensuring a smooth transition.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

Toby Fox also revealed in the newsletter that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, as well as the upcoming Chapters 3 and 4. Initially released in 2018 and 2021 respectively, Chapters 1 and 2 were offered for free, but it was previously announced that Chapters 3-5 would come with a cost.

However, in a delightful turn of events, Fox confirmed that all future chapters will be available as free updates. This means that purchasing the game once will grant access to all subsequent chapters at no additional cost. Fox expressed his optimism, saying, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game's expansive soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4, with additional songs from future chapters to be added for free. Deltarune is shaping up to be a fantastic value, offering an abundance of content at no extra charge.
