Netflix unveiled the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation shortly after announcing its April 3, 2025 premiere date. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic scenes featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the enigmatic White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision, explaining the series' late 90s/early 2000s setting and the deliberate use of a soundtrack reflecting that era. Beyond Limp Bizkit, the anime will feature other period-appropriate tracks, along with a synthwave remix of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove. Shankar hinted at a multi-season arc, promising varied visual styles and soundtracks for future seasons to capture the diversity of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first eight-episode season is expected to draw inspiration from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, "Code 1: Dante," centering on a young Dante investigating a child's disappearance, forcing him to confront his father Sparda's demonic legacy and his own family history.
