Wolcen Studio has recently announced Project Pantheon, an exciting new free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha test for this innovative game will kick off on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players joining in on February 1.
"We've blended the tension and risk reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon promises a unique gaming experience. "We are eager to hear from the players," Cirkulete added. In this game, players will step into the shoes of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world.
As you venture through the game's maps, you'll face off against AI opponents and other players. The stakes are high: successfully evacuate, and you'll keep your hard-earned trophies; fail, and all your loot will be lost. Project Pantheon also allows you to build your own base, customize your gear, and experiment with various playstyles. The game's setting draws from world mythologies, with player trading forming the backbone of its economy.
Your first adventure will take place in "Destiny's Edge," a realm inspired by Scandinavian legends. Even though Project Pantheon is still in its early alpha phase, the developers are committed to actively involving the community to refine and enhance the project.
