Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How to Get to Bloodmoon Island

Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a challenge to reach. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.

Utilizing Spirit Vision and Alternative Travel Methods

The remnants of the destroyed bridge, northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, can be traversed using Spirit Vision. This reveals a broken path requiring creative solutions:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These allow repeated teleportation across the gaps, though time-consuming.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable individual character traversal. This method is limited by party skillsets.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to reach the island, then the other party members teleport to their location.

  4. Fast Travel: A companion with a translocation skill reaches the island, unlocks the waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.

The Undead Ferryman and Deathfog

An undead ferryman, northwest of Cloisterwood, offers a perilous shortcut. Fane, being undead and immune to Deathfog, can safely use the ferry. He can then unlock the waypoint for the rest of the party to fast travel.

Ferry Travel Without Fane

If Fane isn't in your party, the Teleporter Pyramid strategy is necessary:

  1. Equip a companion with a Teleporter Pyramid.
  2. The companion takes the ferry, dying upon arrival.
  3. The remaining party uses a second pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion.
  4. Resurrect the companion using a spell or scroll.

This method is riskier than using the bridge. Avoid attacking the ferryman unless you've saved your game; he retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. For parties without Fane, the bridge method remains the most efficient.
