Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, recently shared exciting details about their upcoming game, Split Fiction, during an interview. He reaffirmed the studio's commitment to avoiding live-service models and microtransactions, stating, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares revealed that Split Fiction's core narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to the playtime of It Takes Two. With optional missions and extra content, players can anticipate a total playtime of 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is known for its co-op games, Fares hinted at the possibility of exploring single-player titles in the future. He also mentioned that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has chosen to forgo post-launch DLC, ensuring all features are available from the game's launch. Split Fiction will be released worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
