Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving you under-equipped. Fortunately, you can acquire the Dogwood Village Bow early and without spending a single groat. This guide details how to obtain this valuable weapon.

After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map makes acquiring the bow incredibly convenient.

The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz. Travel west from Troskowitz, following the path as it curves northward. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable area houses a small training ground.

You'll find a target with arrows; collect these for free ammunition. To the right of the target, leaning against a tree trunk, is the Dogwood Village Bow. The area also offers additional loot, including brew and mushrooms.

Alternative Acquisition:

While purchasable from Huntsman’s Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Given its proximity to the free version, purchasing it is generally unnecessary. Vitek, however, offers other, potentially superior weapons. Consider supplementing your income through alchemy by gathering herbs and selling potions.

Regardless of your chosen method, having a ranged weapon significantly eases combat, especially given the game's fixed difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's melee combat may not appeal to all players, making a ranged option a valuable asset.

After securing the bow, you can continue the blacksmith questline (remember to save after forging a sword), or proceed with the miller's task. With a ranged weapon at your disposal, you'll face Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's challenges with increased confidence.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
