The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer for the "Nyras Prologue" demo of the Gothic 1 Remake. This demo, released during the Steam Next Fest, lets players experience the game as Nyras, a prisoner striving for survival in the harsh world of Gothic – a goal mirroring the Nameless Hero's journey in the original.

Remarkably, the demo has already broken concurrent player records for the entire Gothic series:

The prologue showcases the remake's enhanced visuals, animations, and Unreal Engine 5-powered combat system. While the full scope of the RPG mechanics and freedom of choice won't be fully realized until the complete game's release, the demo provides a compelling glimpse.

The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG), though a specific release date remains unannounced.
