"GTA 6 Trailer 2: Rockstar Claims Biggest Video Launch Ever"

by Sadie May 22,2025

Rockstar Games has announced that the GTA 6 Trailer 2 has achieved the title of the biggest video launch of all time, amassing a staggering 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours. This impressive figure eclipses other notable movie trailer launches, including Deadpool & Wolverine, which garnered 365 million views in its first day, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which secured 200 million views. Last year's Superman trailer, which previously held the record as the most-viewed trailer in DC and Warner Bros. history with over 250 million views, pales in comparison to the monumental success of GTA 6 Trailer 2.

It's interesting to note that GTA 6 Trailer 1, released exclusively on YouTube, achieved 93 million views on its debut day and became the platform's biggest non-music video launch ever. As of May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has already garnered 85,276,196 views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel.

IGN has reported a significant surge in Spotify streams for The Pointer Sisters’ song Hot Together after its inclusion in GTA 6 Trailer 2. The track experienced an astounding 182,000% increase in global Spotify streams within just two hours of the trailer's premiere.

“Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else,” said Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong. “Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 followed the announcement of the game’s delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. The anticipation surrounding GTA 6 suggests it will be the largest entertainment launch in history, potentially breaking revenue records across both video games and movies.
