Helldivers 2 is preparing to share some exciting updates, and developer Arrowhead Game Studios appears confident players will be impressed. As the studio's CEO puts it, you might want to brace yourself.
As highlighted by VideoGamer, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani was active in the game's Discord when someone asked whether he could share even a small hint about what's on the horizon. His reply was direct:
"You'll be blown away."
Though details remain under wraps, his comment gives a good sense of how significant the upcoming content will be—and what it might mean for your excitement levels.
Jorjani also responded to other questions, expressing interest in adding more melee weapons and addressing concerns about potential content gaps. It's refreshing to see such transparency about the technical challenges of running a live game like Helldivers 2, alongside the studio's lighthearted tone.
Arrowhead has already hinted at future updates, including a flag with a pointed tip and textured grip. The studio is targeting May 8 to reveal its next Warbond, promising additional exciting news soon after.
In a recent IGN interview, Alex Bolle, production director at Arrowhead, emphasized the team’s long-term commitment to supporting Helldivers 2 while staying true to its creative vision.
He explained, "As we continue learning how to succeed in a live service environment—and there's still much to master—we're able to explore new systems we couldn’t have imagined at launch. It’s about taking inspiration from other games but adapting it to fit our unique style. That’s what excites me most."
We'll get our first look at what Arrowhead has planned for Helldivers 2 next week. You may want to keep your expectations high—and maybe an extra pair of pants nearby.
