A cataclysmic event has shaken the galaxy in Helldivers 2. The abyss of Meridia has devoured Angel's Venture, obliterating it from existence. Arrowhead Game Studios has declared an era of interstellar mourning in response to this devastating loss.

Angel's Venture's doom was sealed the moment the evacuation order was issued. Following the conclusion of the final large-scale operation, the colossal, pulsating violet singularity surged forward, erasing the planet from the galactic map.

Angel's Venture was consumed by the relentless Meridian Singularity. The Illuminates, long posing as enlightened beings, have revealed their true, horrifying purpose: utter annihilation.

The Galactic Map now bears the scars of Angel's Venture's destruction – deep fractures serving as a grim reminder of the Illuminates' oppressive power. Even more alarming, Ivis, New Haven, and even Super Earth itself remain within the deadly reach of the Meridian Singularity. The galaxy's fate rests on the shoulders of Super Earth's brave warriors, tasked with ending the Illuminate threat, honoring their fallen comrades, and defending their homeworld.

Super Earth's President has declared 24 hours of planetary mourning.

However, the war is far from over. The Meridian Singularity accelerates towards Super Earth, threatening more planets. The upcoming operation aims to halt the abyss's advance while simultaneously countering renewed Illuminate aggression. The hope is that this second attempt will succeed where the first tragically failed.
