As part of its expansive HP Memorial Day Sale, HP is rolling out fantastic deals on the newly released Omen Max 16 gaming laptops, featuring the cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 mobile graphics. The Omen Max, launched in 2025, is an evolution of the Omen 16, boasting enhanced materials like an aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis and lid, along with a robust cooling system designed to handle the latest generation of high-performance hardware. Both GPUs offer significant performance improvements over the RTX 40 series, with the RTX 5070 Ti matching the RTX 4080 and the RTX 5080 outperforming the RTX 4090.

Originally priced at $2,499.99, now available for $2,179.99 with a 13% discount at HP, this Omen Max 16 model comes equipped with a 16-inch 1920x1200 display, an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The Core Ultra 7 255HX processor offers a max turbo frequency of 5.2GHz, with 20 cores and 36GB of total L2 cache, delivering gaming performance on par with the Core Ultra 9 275HX.
According to Notebookcheck, the RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is the true successor to the RTX 4070, providing performance equivalent to the RTX 4080. While the RTX 5070 falls behind, matching the RTX 4070, the RTX 5070 Ti should comfortably handle any game at its native 1920x1200 resolution.

Originally listed at $3,299.99, now reduced by 15% to $2,799.99 at HP, this Omen Max 16 variant features a 16-inch 2560x1600 display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, GeForce RTX 5080 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Core Ultra 9 275HX processor reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.4GHz, with 24 cores and 40MB of total L2 cache, and is recognized by Passmark as the fastest laptop processor available, outperforming the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D by 7%.
Tom's Hardware reports that the RTX 5080 mobile GPU offers a 15%-20% performance boost over the RTX 4080 and is about 5% more powerful than the RTX 4090. The RTX 5080 also presents a better value than the more expensive RTX 5090, trailing by only 15% in performance while being nearly $1,000 less. This GPU is well-equipped to run new and upcoming games at high frame rates on its native 2560x1600 resolution.
