Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for 75 days—one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics regarding Season 2's content remain undisclosed, anticipation is high. Following the record-breaking launch of Black Ops 6 (achieving the highest player count in its first 30 days), recent weeks have seen a noticeable player decline. This downturn is largely attributed to persistent cheating issues in Ranked Play and ongoing server problems. Season 2 is expected to revitalize the game with fresh content and crucial improvements.
Treyarch confirmed the January 28th launch date within a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While immediate fixes were unavailable, the studio stated these would be included in the next season. A comprehensive Season 2 reveal is anticipated soon.
Season 1 delivered a substantial amount of new content, including multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events. Warzone players experienced a significant overhaul with the integration of Black Ops 6's movement system, new weaponry, gameplay enhancements, and the introduction of the Area-99 Resurgence map. The season also saw the welcome return of classic maps like Nuketown and Hacienda.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2. While no map is definitively ruled out, the studio has emphasized a focus on original content over remasters.
