Jason Momoa, known for his role as Aquaman in the previous DC Extended Universe, is set to portray the iconic Lobo in the upcoming 2026 DC Universe film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The Minecraft Movie actor recently offered a glimpse into what fans can expect from this highly anticipated debut.

Lobo, an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter from the planet Czarnia, possesses superhuman strength and immortality. A last survivor of his destroyed world, much like Superman, he was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, first appearing in Omega Men #3 in 1983. Momoa has openly expressed his long-held desire to play this character, citing a strong aesthetic connection as a key motivator.

From Aquaman to Lobo, Jason Momoa is crossing DC universes.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Momoa hinted at Lobo's appearance in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, suggesting a memorable yet brief cameo. He stated, “Well, this is the role I've always wanted to play…It's kind of a no-brainer to play this character. It's pretty big. I don't want to give away too much, but I mean, we look pretty dead on, exactly like the character, and he’s pretty rough and gruff and… I'll say the bike’s really cool.”

When questioned about Lobo's screen time, Momoa clarified, “It’s her movie, so it's great. I just come in for a little bit.”

PlayPreviously, DC co-chief James Gunn shared a first look at Milly Alcock as Supergirl via Bluesky, announcing the commencement of filming for *Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow*. The film, starring House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, is heavily based on the graphic novel of the same name by Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Ana Norgueira. This standalone story follows Ruthye Marye Knoll, an alien girl seeking revenge for her father's murder, enlisting Supergirl's aid against the villain Krem.

The film's cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, Eve Ridley as Ruthye, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Supergirl's mother, and Jason Momoa as Lobo. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, slated for release in June 2026, will be the second installment in the rebooted DC Universe, following James Gunn's Superman this summer. The DCU Clayface movie is scheduled for September 2026.
