Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, a detail confirmed by screenwriter David Koepp. In an interview with Variety, Koepp explained that revisiting Crichton's work provided inspiration for the latest installment, lacking a source novel of its own. This rereading led to the inclusion of a previously unused sequence.

Koepp stated that a scene "always wanted in the original movie, but [they] didn’t have room for" finally found its place in Dominion. While he refrained from specifying the scene, fan speculation has run rampant, identifying several possibilities.
