Warhorse Studios' PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, recently addressed fan concerns during a Twitch showcase, explicitly stating that KCD 2 will not utilize any DRM system, including Denuvo. He clarified that previous discussions about DRM were misconstrued, leading to misinformation. Stolz-Zwilling appealed to fans to cease inquiries about DRM, emphasizing that any information contradicting this statement is inaccurate.

The aversion to DRM, particularly Denuvo, among gamers is well-documented. Concerns often center around potential performance issues and negative impacts on gameplay. Denuvo, while functioning as anti-piracy software, has faced criticism for its perceived effect on game performance. Andreas Ullmann, Denuvo's product manager, has acknowledged the negative perception, attributing it to misinformation and confirmation bias.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is slated for release in February 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Set in medieval Bohemia, the game follows Henry, a blacksmith's apprentice whose village is tragically destroyed. Players who contributed at least $200 to the game's Kickstarter campaign will receive a free copy.
