KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Version Shuts Down, Is It Getting an Offline Version?

KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Server Shutdown: The End of an Era

Another gacha game bites the dust. KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global officially shut down on January 30th, marking the end of a 3.5-year run. While this is shorter than the Japanese version's 5-year lifespan, it's a respectable run for an anime-based gacha, especially considering declining revenue in recent times.

The developers, Sumzap (initially published by Nexon, later Sesisoft), have clearly shifted their focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game. Despite the shutdown, they maintained active updates until the very end, including new voiced story content and a final song release just three weeks prior. A farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, further demonstrated their dedication.

The Japanese version offered players a unique parting gift: an archive of the entire main story on their YouTube channel. This allows players to revisit the comedic antics of Kazuma and his companions at their leisure. An offline version also provides continued access to the story, voice lines, and character collection.

Unfortunately, the Global version lacks both an offline mode and a dedicated YouTube archive. However, fans can still enjoy the Japanese YouTube archive for continued access to the KonoSuba universe.

This concludes our coverage of the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global shutdown. Stay tuned for our next article covering Karrablast and Shelmet in Pokémon Go's February Community Day.
