Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

by Sebastian May 25,2025

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The exciting news was officially announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This confirmation comes after months of speculation and rumors about the possible return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter, alongside Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm for returning to the character. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter expressed. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

View 26 ImagesRitter first brought Jessica Jones to life in the inaugural season of the Netflix series in 2015. The character's journey continued through two more seasons and the crossover event The Defenders. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel for original programming began to dissolve, fans feared they had seen the last of Ritter's portrayal.

The landscape shifted in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain characters, including Jessica Jones. Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again fueled speculation about the potential reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.

Ritter's most recent appearance as Jessica Jones was in the third season, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at future possibilities for the character within the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that more episodes will be available in March 2026.
